What inspired me to get into photography?

I, like many others, realized that the degree I earned in college did not represent my true passion in what I wanted to do in life. In 2005, when my son was born, I discovered photography in a light I never experienced, which then grew over the course of time and continues to grow, really, with each passing day. In an attempt to have my cake and eat it too :) by both staying at home with my children and earning an income by doing something I'm passionate about, I decided to start my own business. Thus, JMM Photography was born!

Why did I choose wedding photography?

(I didn't! It chose me :)

At first, I focused on fine art photography and showed my work at a couple of local galleries (Fusion in Bellevue, KY and Gallery Zaum in Newport, KY). One day a bride called me and asked me to photograph her wedding. All admit, I was a little taken back because I had never even considered wedding photography. I mulled over the idea in my head (with the encouragement of my husband) and decided to go for it by jumping in two feet first! I am so glad I did as I have now found my niche and love what I do!
